I am a professional business broker and mergers & acquistions advisor. I make a market in Michigan between buyers and sellers of businesses and commercial real estate.
Sell Side. I focus on representing small businesses and lower middle market companies in the sales of their companies.
Buy Side. I also focus on buy side representation for accredited investors and private equity groups who have targeted purchasing goals.
ACQUISITION CRITERIA
I have buyers who are eager to hear from principals or their representatives about businesses that meet all of the following criteria:
(1) Small-Mid Market purchases (at least $1 million of pre-tax earnings)
(2) Demonstrated consistent earning power (future projections are of limited interest to buyers, nor are “turnaround” situations),
(3) Businesses earning good returns on equity while employing little or no debt,
(4) An offering price (they don’t want to enter in to talks, even preliminarily, about a transaction, when price is unknown).
The larger the company, the greater will be the interest: They would like to make an acquisition in the $1-$50 million range.
I have directed valuations of businesses, interests in businesses, intellectual property, intangible assets, real property, and machinery and equipment.
